Van Gogh and After: Art in The Age of Climate Change

A conversation between art historian Michael Lobel and artist Alexis Rockman.

Michael Lobel is a professor of art history at Hunter College and the Graduate Center, CUNY.
Alexis Rockman is a painter based in Warren, Connecticut.

To mark the publication of Lobel’s book Van Gogh and the End of Nature by Yale University Press, Rockman and Lobel will discuss Vincent Van Gogh’s art in the context of the industrial era in which the artist lived and worked, and it’s connections to contemporary concerns with environment, pollution, and climate change.
