This event launches the 7-year residencies of its newest cohort of writers. This year, they will be welcoming Bryna Turner, Phillip Christian Smith, Deepa Purohit, Shayan Lotfi, Jordan Seavey, Haruna Lee and SM Shephard-Massat.

The event is free and will include short readings by the work of each of these writers, as well as some brief words about each of these writers by New Dramatists alumni. Phillip Christian Smith (Hunter MFA Playwriting Class of 2023) will be honored, his former Hunter playwriting teacher Mia Chung will be speaking about him, and Hunter's Musical Theatre instructor Elijah Caldwell will be performing.

There are limited seats available for Hunter students, faculty, and staff on a first come, first served basis.
